Caplin & Drysdale's Trevor Potter is featured in the BNA article "Three Years After Pivotal Court Ruling, Debate Over Campaign Finance Grinds On," where he discusses campaign finance law and his support for a plan to limit contributions to super PACs and for greater disclosure requirements for sources of campaign spending. The article also talks about how Trevor's role as counsel to television comedian Stephen Colbert and his super PAC, and Trevor's frequent appearances on The Colbert Report,  helped to promote greater understanding of super PACs.  In an excerpt taken from the article on how easy it was to raise campaign money ultimately used for something else, without anyone else knowing where the money went, "Potter told BNA that his segment on the Colbert show explaining how the disappearing act was done was the only time that he got calls from other potential legal clients interested in possibly hiring him to do the same thing."
