Caplin & Drysdale Welcomes Jonathan Black, George O'Connor, and Sarah Racicot

Caplin & Drysdale welcomed new Associates, Jonathan Black, George O'Connor, and Sarah Racicot to the firm's Washington, D.C., office in September. Mr. Black is an Associate in the Tax Controversy practice group. Mr. O’Connor is an Associate in the Complex Litigation and Bankruptcy practice groups. Ms. Racicot is an Associate in the Private Client practice group.

       

Mr. Black advises individuals and businesses on a wide range of matters relating to compliance with their U.S. tax obligations. Prior to private practice, he served as an attorney with the Office of Chief Counsel for the Internal Revenue Service. While attending Cornell Law School, Mr. Black was an Editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy. He also served as a Judicial Intern at the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of New York.

Mr. O’Connor’s practice area focuses on advising litigation clients on complex issues in state and federal courts across the country. In addition, he works to protect the rights and interests of creditors, tort claimants, and official creditors’ committees in mass tort bankruptcies and other bankruptcy cases involving substantial liabilities. During law school, Mr. O’Connor was a Senior Editor of The Tax Lawyer and served as Co-President of Georgetown Law Human Rights Action-Amnesty International.

Ms. Racicot works with Private Client Group attorneys assisting high-net-worth individuals and their families with tax and estate planning matters. While at Mount Holyoke College, she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and received the Susanne Hoff-Hadley Russian Prize and the Federal Republic of Germany Book Award. During law school, Ms. Racicot was a Special Symposium Editor for the Symposium on Intellectual Property and Privacy as part of the Harvard Journal of Law and Technology. She also received the Dean’s Scholar Prize in Trusts and Estates.
