Seth Hanlon is an associate in Caplin & Drysdale's Washington D.C. office. He joined the firm in 2008. Mr. Hanlon earned his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was an editor of
The Yale Law Journal and a member of the
Pocket Part Committee (
YLJ's online edition).
Prior to law school, he served as Communications Director and Senior Legislative Assistant for U.S. Rep. Harold E. Ford, Jr. (Tenn.), advising him on issues before the Financial Services and Education and the Workforce Committees. In this capacity, he helped to craft legislation expanding national service opportunities, modernizing the nation's banking system, and improving consumers' access to credit reporting information, among other initiatives. Mr. Hanlon also served as Policy Director for U.S. Rep. Martin Meehan (Mass.), where he helped spearhead the development of bills to overhaul congressional ethics and lobbying rules and to repeal the military's “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy.
