Scott Michel and Michael Pfeifer Selected for Legal Tax Advisory Board

June 10, 2013

Scott D. Michel and Michael G. Pfeifer were selected by Wolters Kluwer—a leading provider of legal research products and publisher of tax information and analysis—to be among the nation's top lawyers participating in a Legal Tax Advisory Board to discuss major tax law and regulatory trends, in addition to issues like technologies that are shaping the practice of tax law in the U.S. today.  Board Chair Charles Rettig remarked "The collective experience brought to the Board by these members represents one of the greatest concentrations of expertise in tax that I have seen."

Caplin & Drysdale, one of only two law firms with more than one lawyer on the Board, is familiar with taking the lead on the emerging legal and regulatory trends facing tax practitioners and their clients.  "Many of our partners have held senior positions in the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Treasury, and the Department of Justice," said Scott Michel, Board Member and President of Caplin & Drysdale.  "This forum is a unique opportunity for us to offer clients and fellow lawyers holistic solutions to the complex and ever-changing arena of tax law and compliance."
