Stacy Cline is an associate in Caplin & Drysdale's Washington, D.C. office. She joined the firm in 2008 after serving as Deputy General Counsel for Rudy Giuliani’s presidential campaign and practicing corporate law at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP. Ms. Cline also served as a law clerk to the Honorable John R. Gibson, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit.

Ms. Cline advises candidates, office-holders, corporations, political committees, tax exempt organizations, and individuals on compliance with all federal, state, and local campaign finance, “pay-to-play,” lobbying, and ethics laws. She has counseled numerous clients facing allegations of criminal and/or civil violations of campaign finance, lobbying, and criminal honest services fraud laws. In addition, she establishes tax exempt organizations and assists with all aspects of running a nationwide issue advocacy campaign.

- Representing candidates for President, Senate, and the House of Representatives on compliance with campaign finance laws
- Advising some of the world’s largest investment management firms on compliance with “pay-to-play” laws that regulate the investment of public pension fund money
- Assisting issue advocacy groups with corporate organization, 501(c)(3) and 501(c)(4) applications, and all aspects of managing a daily, nationwide advertising and lobbying campaign
- Collaborating on internal investigations for several corporations facing potential campaign finance or ethics law violations and assisting them with crisis resolution and voluntary disclosures
