Date: 8/23/2011

Excerpt taken from article.

Renowned tax scholar Bernard Wolfman, the Fessenden Professor of Law emeritus at Harvard Law School who authored seminal course books on tax ethics and practice, died August 20

Mortimer M. Caplin of Caplin & Drysdale told Tax Analysts that over the years, he and Wolfman had a close relationship. "I have just the highest respect for him," he said. "I've used his writings and his books on ethics and propriety in tax practice." Caplin's tenure as IRS commissioner coincided with Wolfman's position of managing partner of Wolf Block in the early '60s.

"He's a real leader, and it's a great loss," Caplin said.
