Michael Goon joined Caplin & Drysdale in 2019 as an Associate in the firm’s New York office. Mr. Goon is a member of the firm’s Business, Investment, & Transactional Tax and International Tax practice groups. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced tax at an international law firm in New York City.
Mr. Goon advises individuals and businesses on a wide range of domestic and international tax matters, including:
- inbound and outbound investments in businesses, investment funds and real estate, including on behalf of sovereign wealth funds;
- initial US startup operations for foreign businesses;
- formation and taxation of partnerships; and
- corporate mergers, spin-offs, acquisitions and restructurings.
Mr. Goon is fluent in French and Hebrew. He is also a member of the firm’s Conflicts Committee.
During law school, Mr. Goon was a Staff Editor for the Annual Survey on American Law. He also served as an Intern for the Executive Directorate for Police Services with the Maritime Piracy Task Force at Interpol.
