In 2018, Amanda Reed joined Caplin & Drysdale's Washington, D.C., office as an Associate in the firm’s Exempt Organizations and Corporate Law practice groups.


Ms. Reed’s practice focuses on:

  • representing public charities, private foundations, and businesses on tax, formation, and operational issues;
  • helping nonprofits with all activities relating to mergers and acquisitions; and
  • assisting clients with drafting and negotiating contracts, including purchase agreements, organizational operating agreements, loan agreements, and management equity agreements.


Prior to joining Caplin & Drysdale, Ms. Reed practiced tax at an international law firm in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. While in Philadelphia, she founded the Community Lawyering Clinics pro bono practice group, which partners with community legal services organizations to staff legal clinics.

During her time in law school, Ms. Reed served as a Staff Editor of the Temple Political and Civil Rights Law Review and an Executive Board Member of the Black Law Students Association.
