Douglas D. Drysdale, a Founding Member of Caplin & Drysdale, Chartered, retired from the firm in 2013. As a practicing attorney, Mr. Drysdale represented clients for approximately 50 years, primarily in tax matters. His practice emphasized counseling high-net-worth individuals, especially those with wealth centered in closely-held business interests, and advising tax-exempt organizations and their related persons on difficult tax issues. For more than twenty years, he taught at the University of Virginia School of Law on the procedural aspects of tax practice. Mr. Drysdale served as a mentor and role model to generations of Caplin & Drysdale attorneys and law students.
