Caplin & Drysdale welcomes Lauren Smith as an Associate in the firm's Tax Controversies practice group.

Ms. Smith’s practice centers on assisting individuals and businesses on a range of complex tax matters at all stages of disputes.While at the University of Michigan Law School, Ms. Smith served as Contributing Editor for the Michigan Journal of Law Reform. She also worked as a student-attorney at the University of Michigan Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic. During law school, Ms. Smith was an extern at the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel. Prior to joining Caplin & Drysdale, she provided tax structuring and planning advice on a wide variety of transactional matters at a global law firm.
