More than 14,700 individuals have requested to participate in the IRS's offshore disclosure initiative, Commissioner Douglas H. Shulman said on November 17. James N. Mastracchio, Caplin & Drysdale member, states that US taxpayers can still come forward to make a voluntary disclosure in order to avoid criminal prosecution. See attached pdf.
