Caplin & Drysdale offers a full-service State and Local Tax (SALT) practice, advising corporations and individuals on state and local tax issues and controversies.

State and local tax matters are more important to our clients than at any time in recent history as a result of significant economic and legislative developments that have increased the effect state and local taxes have on individuals and business alike. Just as audit activity is on the rise, legislative changes driven by Federal tax reform, judicial decisions, and economic pressures for taxing authorities to increase revenue are at a peak.

The SALT group at Caplin has significant experience in addressing traditional state and local matters from a planning and consulting perspective, as well as the technically nuanced issues arising from Federal tax reform and the recent Wayfair decision. Our attorneys have an established history of helping clients achieve their personal and business goals by providing a sound understanding of the technical matters at hand. View our brochure.
